| The
true story of a jaguar raised by a city
(sent by Lisarb Sena de Mello, a partner
and designer of NEX logo)
On each side of the border of the states
of Mato Grosso and Goiás, Central Brazil, there are two neighboring
cities, Barra do Garças and Aragarças. this jaguar
was raised in Aragarças, located in the state of Goiás.

It took me some time to find
this picture, because my father had kept it among his things, but
in the end it turned out for the better, as he was able to tell
me the whole story of the cat. It hadn’t been rescued from
hunters, it was rescued by them! A group of wild boars had killed
its mother (though it’s hard to believe that peccaries can
kill jaguars) and it strayed alone, till it came to our farm, which
stood mid-way between the town and the hunters’ trail. So
we took care of it, and it grew to be very tame. But as it grew
older, it was becoming more and more difficult to keep it –
so the city decided to adopt it.
